Hello You! My name is Colin Hamel. I make videos. Documentary work is my interest. I have finished producing the documentary covering my trip to Uganda during the fall of 2006. My most recent works are promotional videos for Summit Adventure, which you can view in the motion section. I love documentary work that enables me to explore the world and share God’s love. The films that move me are those that challenge my preconceptions of life and give a reassurance of hope. Those are the types of films I would love to work on. Lawrence, Kansas is where I began this earth bound journey called life. My first subjects were lego's and clay monsters, as video has been an interest from a very young age. Drawing has also been a life long activity. I still remember when I figured out that human beings don't look like Humpty Dumpy. Graduating from Lawrence High School in 2003, I headed east to Ohio where I received a BFA in Time-Based Media Studies from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2007. During my Junior year I started focusing more on Documentary work and the effect that educational and entertaining videos can have. That has been my artistic endeavor up to now, which is combined with a love for the outdoor adventures, traveling, people and God. Enjoy my motion and still portfolios, check out my resumé, and contact me if you have any questions.
